For storage that produces a particular argument. In most suburbs a battery is bought for the bill and backup is a nice extra. Out here the outages are more frequent than in the built-up suburbs, so the backup circuit is a real part of the value rather than a line in a brochure.
Why the backup circuit matters more here
The outer parts of the region sit on longer, more exposed feeders than the inner suburbs, and Lara is the clearest example. Wind, storms and vegetation on the open plain cause more interruptions than a dense inner network does, and they last longer because there is more line to patrol.
A standard grid-connected battery is no help at all in that situation, because it shuts down in an outage for line worker safety. What keeps a Lara house running is a backup-capable battery, a gateway or changeover device, and a sub-board carrying circuits you nominate. That is decided and wired at install time, not enabled afterwards in an app.

Backup hardware, the gateway and the sub-board sit outside that figure, and out here they are usually worth it.
